Larry Turns 64 – A New Phase in Defending the Common Good

As many of you may have noticed (~_^), something big has shifted in the world of InfoSec. AI is no longer a distant frontier—it’s now the front line of cybersecurity and risk management.

If you’ve taken a class with me anytime in the past three years, you’ve already seen how deep I’ve gone down the AI rabbit hole. From using AI to craft a CISSP exam prep assistant, to long discussions about emergent behavior and synthetic agents—you know I’ve been all in. But what may not be as clear is how profoundly this journey has reshaped my professional direction.

In January of this year, I made a decision: to step away from teaching traditional bootcamps and dedicate myself fully to AI—particularly AI risk and security. That means both understanding it and helping others secure it.

I’ve been hands-on, building my own Ubuntu-based AI lab, running Docker containers with everything from Ollama to Stable Diffusion, tuning models, exploring agents, and integrating with cutting-edge protocols like MCP. I’ve returned to my roots in system architecture and network traffic analysis—but now through the lens of securing agent-based AI ecosystems.

This is no longer about preparing for yesterday’s test. It’s about preparing for tomorrow’s landscape.

If you’re one of the many who continue to purchase my recordings: thank you. Your support doesn’t just keep my work alive—it funds my research and helps me prototype solutions that aim to protect the common good at scale. While I don’t plan to release new recordings, I am channeling all of my energy into building what comes next.

As a member of Singularity University since 2017, and a veteran of IT and internet protocols since the ’80s, I believe I’m uniquely positioned to help organizations navigate this new era. Whether you’re a CISO rethinking your threat model or a startup building the next generation of agentic infrastructure—I’m here, and I’m listening.

The next few years will be decisive. My focus is on AI security, decentralized architectures, post-quantum cryptography, and how all of this fits into defending—not just data—but people, communities, and the biosphere.

I look forward to collaborating, mentoring, and continuing to serve in this exciting new chapter.

Thank you for being part of the journey—and as always,

Live long and prosper,

Larry Greenblatt
